Student-Run Branches
Teaching Financial Success at our Local Schools
Credit unions are built by members, for members. And we believe that extends to our youngest members.
As evidence of this philosophy in action, we are proud to sponsor six student-run branches within the Coppell Independent School District. With the help of teachers and parent volunteers, students from multiple classes apply for and staff each of the six branches.
These branches operate just like a regular credit union branch with students serving as the employees. Students must apply and interview for their positions giving them additional life skills necessary for adulthood. The primary goal of these special branches is to help kids get in the habit of saving money. But through these branches, kids are also learning important counting and money management skills, too.
